the duomo in reggio calabria
The Duomo in Reggio Calabria stands as a powerful and fascinating mass in the homonymous square. It was, however, the last restoration, carried out at the beginning of the last century and therefore done in Art Nouveau style, that gave the cathedral its harmonious appearance. The building seems to stand lightly on only four finely decorated pillars. Inside, the cathedral hides and jealously guards the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, a national monument not to be missed due to the mosaics on the walls and the eight niches that house depictions of the Evangelists, St. Peter and St. Paul and the Doctors of the church, St. Thomas and St. Bonaventura.
