The round and oily leaves of the prickly pear also populate this part of Sicily, in the middle of the Mediterranean, and between the green curves dotted with thorns, the succulent fruits colour and sweeten this plant that seems to be precious even to Mother Nature, who defends it with all those tiny piercing spears.
