san giuseppe' breads

When visiting Trapani in March it is important to set yourself an easy itinerary because there is so much to see and taste, and it would be a shame to renounce any of it! As well as the historic Good Friday procession, with its bands, its participants and its traditional “annacate”, or rocking, when you leave the city gates you will find yourself immersed in a countryside that is rich with promise. In Salemi San Giuseppe is celebrated for most of the month: altars on the front porches of buildings and in the churches, and along each alley votive breads dedicated to the saint are created by devoted hands. The Holy Family, represented by small groups of believers, travel around the town in search of hospitality and comfort, creating a very evocative atmosphere.
