roman baths
When the city had to be rebuilt after the 1908 earthquake, Roman baths were discovered along the coast of Reggio. A veritable spa, because the Romans knew how to treat themselves well! Pools of hot and cold water, changing rooms and massage rooms, whose floors were decorated with mosaics, the remains of which can still be admired today. This thermal structure even had a gymnasium with an arcade, many of whose columns and the walls of the neighbouring buildings are still standing. Ruins have also been found on the sea bed off the coast of Reggio Calabria.
