The tip of the boot
Reggio Calabria has a modern appearance, with a regular urban structure, buildings with a reduced height and wide and straight streets laid out in chessboard style: this is due to the reconstruction following the terrible earthquake that, in 1908, razed it to the ground. The famous “Bronzi di Riace (Riace Bronzes)”, magnificent bronze statues larger than reality, which alone make the journey here worthwhile.
