I FOOD: The exposition of the elements of the tradition
from costumes to altars, from food to the celebration of musical instrument
All of this, until the 31st of October. An unusual exposition that takes place at Palazzo Bonocore in Palermo bringing together all the elements of the tradition: from typical costumes like “l’ussu of Saponara”, “the Mastro of Mezzojuso”, “the devils of Prizzi”; to ceremonial artefacts of Saint Giuseppe like bread-made altars prepared for the dinners of Salemi and the “tavulata of Poggioreale”; from a typical dance “Ballo della Cordella” of Petralia Sottana to the typical sweets for the celebration of our deads like “pupa ri zuccaru” 2,30 meters in height. Also pictures and projections dedicated to Saint Rosalia who is considered the most important by the inhabitants of Palermo. An experience that focuses on spreading the tradition among the new generations and tourists, but also to remember the past.
