Guided tours all summer long
During the summer there will be guided tours on Saturdays at 6:00 pm and on Sundays at 11:00 am starting from Piazza Tartini.
The history of this ancient village on the Adriatic Sea testifies its many political influences, as happens in many border towns.
The city was founded by refugees fleeing from Aquileia during the Hun invasions. The refugees found the ideal place to establish themselves in this tiny valley overlooking the sea and close to Slovenia.
The tiny houses on the narrow roads echo the influence of Venice: the charm is amplified by the reflection of the buildings on the squares of the “saline”, the saltworks which represent the main economic source together with the touristic port. During the summer months there will be guided tours on Saturadays at 06:00 pm and on Sundays at 11.00 am, departing from Piazza Tartini.
