The fish is everywhere
The traditional cuisine of Panarea is simple but rich in flavour: the fish represents the basis. Among the mains there is the pasta with the fish head sauce and the fried pasta alla panarellese with anchovies, salt, pepper and bread crumbs. Among the second plates there is the cod with cappers, the trigghi u rosmarinu (mullet with rosemary) and the tomatoes filled with fish. Among the typical desserts there are the spicchidedda with cooked wine and cloves, the Munnuli cake with almonds and the Vastedduzzi, typical during the Christmas period, filled with almonds, cinnamon, mandarin water and cloves.
